Map of Bus Accessible Beaches on Paxos Island
If you’re looking to explore the beautiful beaches of Paxos Island, the local bus service offers a convenient and scenic way to get around. Operating since the 1980s, the bus connects all the main villages and is a favorite among both locals and tourists.
Riding the bus on Paxos Island is a unique experience. As you travel along the narrow streets, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the sea and the island’s interior. One of the highlights is the narrow street in Loggos, where the bus passes just centimeters from the sea.
The bus stops at key villages like Lakka, Loggos, Magazia, and Gaios, making it easy to walk to nearby beaches. Here are some beaches you can reach:
- Lakka: Harami, Kanoni, and Lakka Beach
- Loggos: Gouli, Levrehio, and Marmari Beach
- Gaios: Gianas and Plakes Beach
You can also request stops for other beaches. For example, near Lakka, you can stop at the Orkos & Lakos Bus Stop and walk to Lakos (10-15 minutes) or Orkos (about 20 minutes). In Apergatika, you can ask to be dropped off to walk to Monodendri Beach (15-20 minutes). From Tzilios, request a stop to walk to Kipos or Kipiadi. From Magazia, you can walk to Erimitis Beach.
During July and August, the bus runs at night, allowing you to enjoy the sunset before catching a ride back. Always check the latest timetable on announcement boards around the island and at main stops to plan your journey.
