Beach Hopping
When it comes to beach hopping and swimming on Paxos Island, there’s no shortage of stunning spots to explore. Allow me to share some of my personal favorites, each offering its own unique charm and allure.
One of my personal favorite beaches, easily accessible by car and a short walk, is Marmari Beach just outside the charming village of Loggos. It’s a mere 10-minute stroll away, but the tranquility you’ll find there is simply unparalleled. Marmari Beach boasts crystal-clear blue waters that beckon you to take a refreshing dip, while the shade provided by the olive trees offers the perfect respite from the sun’s warm embrace. In my humble opinion, it’s the most beautiful beach on the island, with its pristine sands, inviting waters, and breathtaking scenery. Don’t just take my word for it – see it for yourself and prepare to be captivated by its beauty.
But Marmari Beach isn’t the only gem awaiting you on Paxos. Other notable beaches worth exploring include Orkos, Lakos, Kipiadi, and Kipos, each offering its own unique charm and beauty. And for those seeking the perfect spot to catch a stunning sunset, look no further than Erimitis Bay. While the walk to Erimitis Bay may be a bit longer and more challenging, the payoff is well worth it. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting its golden glow over the cliffs and sea, you’ll be treated to a sight that’s nothing short of magical.
While organized beaches with restaurants, bars, sunbeds, and umbrellas are few and far between on Paxos, there are a few standout options worth mentioning. Manadendri boasts a bar and restaurant complete with a pool – the perfect place to unwind after a day of sun and sea. Levrehio Beach is another great choice, with a charming restaurant serving up delicious fare and refreshing drinks.
Of course, no trip to Paxos would be complete without exploring the countless beaches, sea caves, and bays that can only be accessed by boat. From the pristine shores of Voutoumi and Vrika in Antipaxos to the awe-inspiring Achai Blue Caves along the West Coast, the options are truly endless. So whether you’re exploring on your own with a rented boat or joining a boat trip, be sure to carve out some time to discover these hidden treasures – you won’t be disappointed.

Sunset on Paxos
When it comes to catching that picture-perfect sunset on Paxos, Erimitis Bay is a top contender. But guess what? There’s a whole bunch of other spots where you can soak in the evening glow. Plani Beach, for instance, is just a short 7-minute drive from Lakka. Pull up, park your car behind the beach, and head for the rocks on the side – trust me, they offer killer views.
Then there’s Kastanida. This gem boasts a few different viewing spots, each offering jaw-dropping vistas from lofty heights. You can easily find it on Google Maps as “View of Cave,” right above the Cave of Ypapanti.
Craving a side of dinner with your sunset? Erimitis Bar & Restaurant has got you covered. But if you’re lucky enough to have your own boat, the sunset-watching possibilities are endless. Picture yourself drifting by the Tripitos Arch or chilling in Rodovani on the northwest coast of Antipaxos – talk about a front-row seat to nature’s nightly show!
And hey, why not make a whole evening out of it? Jump on one of the boat trips we’ve mentioned below and combine your sunset session with even more adventures. The sky’s the limit when it comes to sunset-chasing on Paxos!
